Unified Robotics
In 2021...
The Northville Robostangs partnered with Special Olympics Michigan and FRC 503, to brainstorm, develop, and execute the first Unified Robotics program and competition in Michigan. Unified Robotics brings together students with intellectual disabilities (athletes) and FRC students (peers) in teams of 4-5. The students work together to develop their own sumo bots and EV3 code over a span of eight weeks. The Robostangs have ran and hosted the Unified Robotics competition for the past 3 years. Our program has grown to include over 8 teams and we hope to continue to expand Unified Robotics in order to continue giving opportunities to those who might not have had them otherwise.
