Logomotion
The challenge FIRST gave teams for the 2011 season is known as Logomotion. Logomotion, like all FRC games is played on a 27′ by 54′ field. The point of the game is to score inflatable tubes shaped like the components of the FIRST logo (Red Triangle, White Circle and Blue Square) on scoring grids attached to the drivers stations. The first 15 seconds of the match is an autonomous period where the robots must drive themselves. During this period robots are allowed to hang yellow, round “Ubertubes” on the racks to earn extra points for their alliance. The higher the peg the higher the point value. Alliances can get score multipliers by hanging the rings on a particular level in the shape of the FIRST logo (Triangle, circle square) this results in a 2x multiplier being applied to that row. During the last 10 seconds of the match robots are allowed to release minibots onto poles on the field. These mini robots then race up the poles. Alliances are awarded bonus points according to what place their minibot finishes in these races.
