The Robostangs returned from the Ann Arbor district with 2 awards to add to their collection.  The first was the the Gracious Professionalism Award.  This achievement recognizes the team that, judged by their peers was most willing to help other teams and individuals.  At the event the Robostang’s offered their services to many teams in areas such as programming and mechanical help.

The second award was the District Finalist award.  The Robostangs fought hard along with teams 3098 (The Captains) and 247 (Da Bears) but eventually fell to the  number 1 seed alliance comprised of teams 2337 (EngiNERDS), 66 (The Flyers) and 494 (The Martians).  The Robostangs congratulate these teams on their excellent match play.

The Robostangs look forward to the state competition April 7-9 and wishes luck to all other teams attending!

The Robostangs arrived at Waterford Mott High School looking for a fun, successful weekend.  We got it.  After some technical problems early on Friday, which we repaired throughout the day, we came back strong to finish as the 9th seeded team at the close of qualification rounds.  After some shuffling around we joined the 5th seeded team 3539, The Byting Bulldogs and chose team 3620 The Average Joe’s to round out our alliance.  With this group we powered through eliminations beating both the first and second seeded alliances to be named the winners of the Waterford District event.  Just when we thought the evening couldn’t get any better we were awarded the District Chairman’s Award for our ambitious community outreach efforts over the last few years.  I believe I speak for the entire team when I say, this was the best district event experience we have ever had!

The Robostangs are preparing to attend our first competition of the season, the Waterford District event held at Waterford Mott high school.  At this two day event the Robostangs will match our robot against those of 39 other teams in games of Logomotion!  Hopefully we will bring back some awards and great memories!
